New playable demo!
Untarctica (Vertical Slice) » Devlog

Hello, everybody! After several months working in silence, we're glad to inform that a brand new build of our game is out! Aside from entertaining our players, we hope this demo can validate some of the design choices we’ve made (and a few we’re still experimenting with). So we urge you to give Untarctica a try and let us know how it went.
New Features:
- More content: two extra regions, three new bosses and a bunch of enemies
- New powerup: The rotating prism shield is protective against bullets, as well as an efficient close-range attack
- Codex: hunting enemies, collecting lore and finding powerups now add articles to the Codex new feature
Plus, based on player feedback, our latest demo includes several key improvements:
- Duck/Crouch Mechanic: Dodge bullets, aim lower, and accelerate falls
- Mouse Button Keybinds: Additional control options
- Adjustable Game Speed: Slow-motion feature for challenging sections
- New Language: Portuguese translation now available
- Enhanced Minimap: Now displays doors and their states for better exploration
- Easier bosses mode: Can be set on/off at any moment; causes bosses to be slightly more manageable
- MIDI Support: Play using MIDI instruments like saxophones or electronic drumkits
Technical Improvements:
- Alt+Enter fullscreen toggle
- Improved tutorial hints
- Updated fonts
- Game balance adjustments
- Overhauled assist features
- Performance and stability enhancements
- Refined game physics
- A bunch more!
Thank you for your continued support and feedback!
